Special Feature:

This trail is so significant and is included on this CD because of the unbelievable floral displays in mid-March through mid-June. The trail is paved and has benches along the way.

During the first 2 weeks of March, the Grass Widow flowers are in bloom and what a display they create for your hiking pleasure. Be aware that the wind can be a real problem in this area of the Columbia River Gorge. The bright side is that the weather is often sunny here while cloudy elsewhere. Be prepared for the wind and for cold temperatures.

East bound on SR-14 from Bingen, Washington - Follow SR-14 approximately 4.6 miles to mile post 71 and junction with County Road 1230 on the left. Turn left onto County Road 1230 at Rowland Lake and follow it 1.4 miles to the Catherine Creek parking lot on the north side of the road.

Westbound on SR-14 from Lyle, Washington - Follow SR-14 approximately 1/4 mile and take a right onto Old Hwy 8 (County Road 1230). It is an immediate right after crossing the Klickitat River. Follow Old Hwy 8 for approximately 4.8 miles to the Catherine Creek parking lot on the north side of the road.
