Dry Creek Falls Hike

PCT 2000 @ Cascade Locks

The hike starts near the Bridge of the Gods and heads toward Herman Creek
This hike follows the PCT #2000
After crossing under the freeway you follow a gravel road to here
The hike follows the PCT through dense young forests
In season there are a large variety of flowers along the way
The trail climbs moderately for the first mile
Spring time is so very green
The PCT is well maintained
The trail continues
The trail passes under a major power line

At about a mile the trail levels off
The trail is mostly in young forests
Dogwoods are always a joy to behold
Then the trail begins to loose elevation
At about 2 miles you come to a road - bear right and climb
The road takes you to Dry Creek Falls
Retrace your way back down the road and cross Dry Creek
The trail climbs a bit was you continue eastward

As the trail climbs it comes to an open area
The trail continues
You now catch glimpses of the Columbia River below
The trail continues
Here you can see across to the Washington side of the Gorge
The trail climbs some more
Now the trail passes through more mature forests
At about 3 miles you will see strange rock pinnacles along the trail
These formations are covered with wildflowers in season
