The trail descends rather steeply
After dropping several hundred feet in elevation, the trail follows a service road

Now the trail has left the service road and continues the climb up Augspurger
In season the trail is lined with wildflowers
Here the trail dips just a bit before climbing
Eventually the trail comes out on a barren ridge which it follows for quite some distance
There are many great vistas as the trail travels in the open areas
