This hike provides a choice of two approaches to the top of the Latourell Falls area. One can follow the trail either clockwise or counterclockwise. However you choose to hike this trail, use extreme caution as there are very steep cliffs and drop-offs along the area near the falls.   The trail meanders through forested areas to a challenging creek crossing on an old fallen log before returning to the parking area.   The hike takes you through a picnic area north of the Old Columbia River Highway.


Guy Talbot used this area for a summer home until 1929 when he donated the property to the State of Oregon. There is no fee to use this park, but the picnic shelter fee in 2008 is $35 for the first 50 people, then $.80 per person for more people. For information,
