This is an outstanding little gem of a hike located with easy access for hikers of all ages.
The trail is almost entirely well maintained and easy to follow. There are no restrooms
at the trailhead, but there are facilities just up the road at the Coldwater Lake boat
launch area.
The hike can be enjoyed by going in either direction, clockwise or counterclockwise.
The hike is peppered with many small water features and offers a delightful meandering
through a unique volcanic landscape.
Even though the trail wanders through dense wooded areas, for the most part, you are treated
to exceptional views of Mt. St. Helens. In season there are excellent floral displays. Wild life
such as elk and deer are often seen in the area.
